Elevated One

Privacy Policy

Plain English, and short on purpose. This is how we handle the information you give us when you enquire about a membership — and what we will never do with it.

Who we are

This policy explains how E1 Island Operations Pty Ltd (ABN 30 698 206 174), trading as Elevated One collects, uses, holds and discloses personal information. We handle personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles.

In this policy, “we”, “us” and “our” mean Elevated One.

What we collect

We only collect what we need to have a sensible conversation with you about membership and, if you join, to operate your membership.

When you enquire: your name, email address, phone number, general location, and the details you choose to give us about your boating experience, licensing, the kind of boating you have in mind and your preferred level of membership.

If you proceed: information required to hold a founding place and to establish a membership — including identity and licence details, emergency contact details, and payment or bank details processed by our payment providers and our lawyers.

Automatically, when you visit our site: your IP address, browser and device type, the pages you view, and how you arrived (for example, from an advertisement).

We do not seek sensitive information. If safety or medical information is relevant to a particular activity, we will ask for it separately and tell you why.

Why we collect it

To respond to your enquiry and speak with you about membership; to assess suitability for membership; to hold a founding place and administer deposits; to operate memberships, bookings, inductions and the fleet; to meet safety, insurance and legal obligations; and to understand which of our marketing efforts are working.

We will not add you to a general marketing list on the strength of an enquiry. If we ever want to send you regular marketing, we will ask you first, and every message will let you stop it.

Cookies, advertising and analytics

Our pages use cookies and similar technologies, including the Meta pixel, Google Ads tagging and the LinkedIn Insight Tag, so we can see how many people who click an advertisement go on to make an enquiry. These tools may set cookies and share a limited, pseudonymised record of your visit with Meta, Google and LinkedIn. We do not use them to build profiles of individuals, and we do not sell data.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, and you can adjust advertising preferences with Meta, Google and LinkedIn directly. Blocking cookies will not stop you using our site or making an enquiry.

Who we share it with

We share personal information only where it is needed to run the club, and only with parties bound to protect it: our customer relationship management provider (HubSpot), which stores enquiry records; our lawyers, including for deposits held in escrow; our insurers and brokers; our payment providers; and technology providers who host our systems.

We may also disclose information where the law requires it, or where it is necessary to respond to a serious safety incident.

We do not sell, rent or trade personal information.

Overseas disclosure

Some of our providers store data outside Australia, including in the United States and the European Union. Where that happens, we take reasonable steps to ensure the information is handled consistently with the Australian Privacy Principles.

How we hold and protect it

Information is held in access-controlled systems with encryption in transit. Access is limited to the people who need it. We keep enquiry records only while there is a genuine prospect of a membership conversation, and membership records for as long as required by law and our insurance obligations, after which we delete or de-identify them.

Accessing or correcting your information

You can ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it, by emailing info@elevatedone.com.au. We will respond within a reasonable period, normally 30 days. There are limited situations where we may need to keep information — for example, safety or legal records — and we will tell you if that applies.

Complaints

If you believe we have mishandled your personal information, please contact us first at info@elevatedone.com.au so we can put it right. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
